Ground fern growing abundantly on the edges of the bush in the more dry, light areas. It is most easily identified by the formation of spores along the edges of the pinna. This gives the pinna the appearance of "rolling up". In appearance this fern is very similar to Deparia petersenii but can be differentiated from D. petersenii by its tufted nature, spore arrangement, and the red-brown stipes (stalks) of older fronds.
